Once restricted to the luxury segment, the sunroof has nowadays become one of the most desired features among buyers looking for a new car. The demand for sunroof-equipped models is so high that the carmakers have started offering the “window on the roof” in their budget offerings as well. Here, we have compiled a list of the 5 best cars with a sunroof you can buy under ₹10 lakh in India in 2025.

1. Hyundai Exter

  • Sunroof available from the S Smart variant onwards, with prices ranging between ₹7.02 lakh and ₹9.61 lakh (ex-showroom)

The Hyundai Exter is the most affordable car you can buy with an electric sunroof. It can also be controlled through voice commands from SX (O) Connect Knight Edition onwards, which benefits from connected car technology. Depending on the variant, this micro utility vehicle also gets features like automatic projector headlamps, 15-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, OTA updates support, a digital instrument cluster, a height-adjustable driver seat, cruise control, auto AC with rear AC vents, a wireless charger, powered side mirrors, and a dashcam with dual camera.

For passengers’ safety, it comes equipped with standard six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, vehicle stability management, hill assist, tyre pressure monitoring system, ISOFIX anchors, and rear parking sensors, along with a reversing camera.

Known for its compact design yet spacious cabin, the Exter can be had with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, paired with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT (Automated Manual Transmission). Its select manual variants can also be paired with a factory-fitted CNG kit, equipped with a dual cylinder system to enable a decent boot space for your weekend getaway.

2. Tata Altroz

  • Sunroof is being offered from the Pure S variant, priced at ₹7.36 lakh (ex-showroom).

To give strong competition to the segment leader, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Tata has loaded the Altroz to the brim. Key highlights include a 10.25-inch floating infotainment system, a fully digital 10.25-inch driver's display with full-screen navigation display support, ambient lighting, an air purifier, multiple driving modes, a 360-degree camera and an electric sunroof. In fact, all variants of the 2025 Altroz, except for the base-spec Smart variant, can be configured with a single-pane sunroof. This feature also supports the voice assist function. Not only this, but the Altroz is the only car in its segment to offer a diesel engine (a 1.5L unit), which is why it’s on our list. It is also available with 1.2-litre petrol and factory-fitted CNG engine options.

3. Mahindra XUV 3XO

  • The SUV is available with both a single-pane and a panoramic sunroof.
  • Priced at ₹8.60 lakh (ex-showroom), the RevX M(O) is the most affordable variant to get a sunroof.

The recently launched XUV 3XO RevX trims have brought down the entry barrier for a sunroof. This feature is now available from the RevX M(O) variant, which is available with the SUV's 1.2-litre MPFi turbo-petrol engine, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. Compared to the standard variant lineup of the SUV, the RevX trims feature a body-coloured grille, blacked-out alloy wheels, and bring some premium top-end features to lower trims.

The mid-spec MX2 Pro variant can also be had with a single-pane sunroof under ₹10 lakh, and interestingly, it is available with both petrol and diesel engine options. And if you are comfortable stretching your budget a bit, the RevX A variant, priced at ₹10.74 lakh (ex-showroom), can fill the cabin with light through the larger dual-pane panoramic sunroof.

Did You Know? The XUV 3XO is actually a facelifted version of the XUV300, launched in April 2024. The brand changed its name as part of the facelift update to denote a new X factor for the whole XUV lineup. The upcoming XUV700 facelift will also follow the same nomenclature approach.

4. Maruti Suzuki Dzire

  • Only sub-4-meter sedan to get a sunroof.
  • The feature is restricted to its top-spec ZXi+ variant, priced from ₹8.86 lakh (ex-showroom).

Maruti Suzuki's popular compact sedan, the Dzire, is the sole offering in its category to get a single-pane electric sunroof. Not only this, but it also features the segment’s first 360-degree camera, along with amenities like LED vision headlamps, 15-inch alloys, 9-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car suite, Arkamys-tuned sound system, auto climate control, rear AC vents, push button start/stop, six airbags (standard), hill assist, TPMS and much more.

Maruti offers the Dzire ZXi+ with a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine, with 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options.

Did You Know? The Dzire was the first car for Maruti Suzuki to get a full 5-star safety rating from Global NCAP.

5. Hyundai Venue

  • Sunroof available from the HX5 variant onwards, priced from ₹9.15 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Hyundai Venue, which has recently undergone a generational update, gets a single-pane electric sunroof from the mid-spec HX5 variant onwards. It is also the most value-for-money variant in Venue’s lineup that offers a great balance between styling, comfort & safety features. Also, it is the only variant in Venue’s lineup which gets all three engine options — 1.2-litre N.A. petrol, 1-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre diesel. However, only the petrol-powered manual version of the HX5 variant falls under the ₹10 lakh mark.

Did You Know? Under the Motor Vehicles Act 1988, standing out of a sunroof in a moving car is a punishable offence and extremely dangerous, which can cause a serious safety hazard in some situations.
